Some Generic questions

- Describe an occasion when you had to make a difficult decision.
- Give us an example of a time you had a challenge with someone and how you resolved it
- How would you tackle getting to know a technology you have never used ?
- What types of problems have you encountered most often in operational systems after deployment?
- Describe a time when you had to make a presentation. How did you manage to explain technical details to a non-technical audience?
- We’re looking for someone who works well independently since the position involves field work and telecommuting. Give an example of how you’re a self-starter.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years
- What are your goals
- What is your ideal job ?
- When did you solve a problem as part of a team ?
- What was the last major project you did ?
- How do you find working with people remotely
Some Technical Questions
- How would you update SQL on a server ?
- After a SQL installation, what would be the first things you would do ?
- How would you troubleshoot a DNS Name not resolving?
- C Drive is full, what would be your first port of call
- How would you remotely execute a task on 20+ Servers
- According to an HTTP monitor, a web page is down. You’re able to view the webpage via a browser to its DNS name what would you do to resolve the issue

- What are your passions
- What resources do you use (e.g. forums, websites and books) to keep up-to-date with engineering trends?
